#104 What I Wish I Knew About Money 10 Years Ago

Jess Episode 104

10 years ago, my husband and I thought we were doing okay financially. Compared to the average American, we weren’t drowning in credit card or student loan debt—but we still weren’t where we wanted to be. We were living with $100K of consumer debt, making minimum payments on two vehicle loans and a camper, and thinking we’d figure it all out someday. But deep down, I knew we weren’t truly financially secure.

Fast forward to today, and everything has changed. By creating a financial plan, getting rid of debt, and taking control of our money, we’ve built the kind of financial freedom I never thought was possible.

In this episode, I’m sharing the biggest money lessons I wish I had known a decade ago—so you don’t have to make the same mistakes I did. We’ll talk about:

How budgeting actually gives you freedom—not limitations
Why paying off high-interest debt is the best investment you can make
The importance of an emergency fund (because life happens!)
How investing early—even small amounts—can completely change your future
Why money should be a tool, not a source of stress

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by money, stuck in debt, or unsure where to start, this episode is for you. Learn from my mistakes and start making smarter financial choices today!
